What If the watchlist also lived within any Movies and TV Show tabs where if you had a massive watchlist it would break down the TV/Movies depending on which tab you were in and then you could choose how to sort those lists and decide to hide the stuff that has yet to come to streaming.
I’m not sure if I understood what you’re suggesting. Would you mind elaborating what this should exactly do ??
You seem to have also posted in the suggestion to have the watchlist split into different tabs per media type (similar to the playlists page). There’s another suggestion asking for an option to filter libraries by items on your watchlist (e.g. to create smart collections/custom hubs)
Ya So what I’m suggesting is if you’re in your Home tab and up top, you have your watchlist as it currently sits with all Movies, and TV Shows, and that’s fine…
But If I Click on my Movies tab I would also like to see up top the watchlist there and when I click on it it’s only going to show me the movies on my watchlist and then I can still filter and sort if need be.
And then If I Click on my TV Shows Library up at the top if I click on watch list it only shows me the TV shows in my watchlist and then I can filter and sort as needed.
The current playlists option just doesn’t really work and never really has. If you add a TV show to a playlist it doesn’t really keep track of the watched episodes or remove them after being watched so the way I use it is just to add the first episode of any show that I want to remember to watch and then it will be on deck going forward but then I’ve had issues removing episodes or movies from playlists from certain clients so I don’t really use them anymore.
I hope watchlists will work much better and I think for someone that may have an extensive watch list what I suggested might make it a bit cleaner.
I hope that makes more sense.
Ok… so you’re asking for a watchlist tab in each (applicable) library, where items of that library which are on your watchlist are displayed.
Ya basically…when you go into watchlist in a movies library it shows only Movies on your watchlist both from that library as well as any you added from Discover and then the same thing for TV shows within a TV Library.
I find the watchlist as one enormous collection of everything too cumbersome to use. Already I have to curate it in order to keep it a list of “media I want to see, but don’t have in my library”, because there’s too much to sort through.
Ideally I would like to have items in the watchlist (which are available to stream) included in the library. I appreciate this might be difficult to implement for users who access multiple library sources, however.
So the next best option would be to have the watchlist appear as a row in the Recommended tab of each library, Movies in movie libraries, TV series in TV libraries.
Lol mate the make the position of the watchlist even worse.
Ok so honestly it might not be perfect and they can prob still make a few tweaks but looking at it now where they made the watchlist a category on the left navigation might be ok. When you go into it and look at recommended you can see Movies/Tv Shows and a few other easy to glance at categories and you can go into each one. It would be nice to filter or sort there but if you then click on the watchlist tab next to recommended you can filter by all or available to stream, and more, and then you Select Movies or Tv Shows or both, and then sort by Title, date, and others. I mean this kind of works. For the most part.
I hate having another addition to the already “long” side menu for me.
Having it on top was just perfect but yeah… moving it for some ugly blowup front .
Watch list is definitely missing an opportunity here. If I open up the Movies library to Recommendations, I get a bunch of recommendations (continue watching, recently added, various collections).
This would be the perfect place to show me any Movies on my watchlist in this particular library. I’m on this tab to look for recommendations, and my watchlist is surely one of the best recommendations I could have for what to watch!
A post was split to a new topic: Cannot find watchlist and discover
