I can’t for the life of me figure out what is wrong here. When I try to add things to a watch list, they get added and “add to watch list” button says item added to watch list, but then when i back out and return to the previous menu and click on the movie again, it’s as if i never added it to the watch list. Yet when i go to my watchlist the movie is in there but there is no green check mark to indicate that its been added. Also, my watch list for a particular profile is shared across all user profiles instead of being able to have exclusive watch lists for each profile. The whole damn thing is busted, and I have no idea how to fix this problem. I screwed around with a few SQL files inside the ProgramAPP directory of plex because I was trying to troubleshoot why my covers were always changing on me (separate issue) but in doing so I think might have broken the system.
Additionally, when i go my “account Home” in the media server on my desktop computer and share access to my files with my user profiles, the check marks are displayed as grey, instead being green like they usually are.
I have tried re-installing a brand new up to date version of plex, I have tried restoring my meta data, i even removed my user profiles and deleted them but somehow the server is pulling data from my old watch list from a month ago and the movies are just stuck there. I can’t even remove what I already added.
I have 10’s of thousands of entries compiled on my plex library so i do not want to rebuild my entire library. There has to be away to reset this without having to resort to reformatting my hard drive.
I figured it could have something to do with the authorized devices maybe? The issue seems to be causing a problem on my PS5 console. Any other device its fine. I can go to my Roku and the same movies that I added to my watch list using my PS5 console actually displays “remove from watchlist” button and movies are not being spread across all profiles as it should be. However, i tried removing the authorized devices of my PS5 and relinking them and that still did not fix the problem and I redownloaded the app for the PS5, still no go. So, i am at a loss on how to fix this.
