Server Version#: Version 1.41.2.9200
Player Version#: Version 4.142.1
Hi All,
Recently, the “Watchlist” button has disappeared from my library. I can add movies that are not in my library to my watchlist, but movies in my library now do not have the button. I thought maybe this could be a problem with my server, so I updated it, but I’m still having the same issue. It’s also a problem with each one of my movies, no matter how recently or long ago I added them to my library. I read that updating the metadata could help fix this, but I’ve personalized a lot of my movies with new tags, posters etc. and I don’t really know what updating metadata does, and am concerned that it will erase my customizations.
***Edit: Just wanted to add, that I can add any movie to my watchlist, but only through the search bar.
I am having the same exact problem as you describe. I use Plex Movie as the matching agent. You can refresh the metadata of a single movie… this does not bring add watchlist button back. I do not want to refresh metadata for all 10,0027 of my movies.
I have always had adult content enabled. Don’t know why, but always have. I have changed no settings recently. I have had the add watchlist button for ~7 years.
Yes tried that, the add watchlist button has not re-appeared. As I mentioned, in my case, the adult content option never affected add watchlist button behavior before. But it is unchecked, now, FWIW, and I just added ‘Fido (2006),’… no watchlist button.
I have the same issue with my ‘Films’ library (but not in TV library) and this did not make any difference - I have no watchlist button, whether I enable or disable Adult Content and refresh metadata afterwards.
Problem exists in both Windows and Mac desktop apps, and in web browser.
However, the watchlist button still appears in the Android app (and in search bar results, as has been pointed out).
Really annoying issue as it breaks one of the more often used features entirely if affected by it. For me in the Web App the button exists, on the Desktop App it’s missing - nice.
The suggested “workaround” is also not good, as it may hide content even if you do not have a fully adult collection, as some more explicit movies may fall in the same section and thus won’t be displayed anymore without noticing.
I also wonder how to search for software updates for the Plex Windows Desktop App within it?
It doesn’t hide anything. All it does is preventing newly added adult items from getting metadata/matched.
After an adult item has been matched, you can disable that setting.
Doing so will enable discover credits in this library, btw.
