Can we get a Home Screen hub for the Watchlist that can be positioned right under the Continue Watching hub (or positioned anywhere else really).
If you have the watchlist pinned to the sidebar, you should also see some related hub on the home screen, e.g. Available from your watchlist
. Is that what you’re looking for?
Personally I like accessing the full watchlist straight from the sidebar if I need it.
That sounds like what I’m looking for, but I don’t see it. Should that be in all clients?
Edit: Not exactly what I’m looking for since it apparently only shows Watchlist items that are available on selected streaming services and not what is in the local library. Also seems dependent on the Discovery hub being pinned regardless of whether the Watchlist is pinned.
The “Watchlist” media source will be near the bottom of the list if you switch your sidebar to the MORE… mode.
Use the hosted web app.
I meant to say the Watch list is pinned to the sidebar, but I’m not seeing a related hub for it on the home screen. The only hubs are still.
- Continue Watching
- Recently Added TV
- Recently Added Movies
Do you actually have content in your Watchlist?
Are you checking on the web app or on some Plex app type?
Yes. There are currently 8 items in the watchlist and using either the web app.plex.tv or Plex for Windows v.1.59.1.3398-dab42972 show the same thing.
Actually I’m seeing the same.
I need to ask someone else about this.
“Available from your watchlist” mean available from online streaming services (Netflix, Disney+, etc.) and not on your own server. So you need to have your streaming services selected in your settings to see that hub.
Ok. Well that is not what I’m looking for then. However, there are 11 streaming services selected. And some of the 8 items in the watchlist are definitely in those streaming services. If that is what is required to trigger the hub, it still isn’t doing it.
That’s definitely not true.
I upgraded Plex for Windows to 1.60 and tried resetting customization of the home screen, but that didn’t help.
I have Disney+ selected and only Disney+ shows appear on the “Available from your watchlist” hub. No other content from my watchlist shows up in my hub. Even shows I have on my own server do not show up. I can verify this by looking at the API calls used by the hub.
Which libraries are pinned to your sidebar? Do you have any of the “web” libraries like Movies & Shows?
I only have:
- Home
- Watchlist
- TV Shows
- Movies
… in that order.
Also “Available from your watchlist” is a Discover source, not a watchlist source, so that needs to be pinned.
This is mentioned in the support article.
That did it. And that hub only shows 4 of the 8 items I have in the watchlist, so not all that helpful. The hierarchy also seems dependent on where the Discover hub is ordered rather than where the Watchlist is ordered.
Like I mentioned above, it only shows what is available on the streaming services you selected.
I have House of the Dragon on my watchlist, but I don’t have HBO Max (actually Crave in Canada) selected for my streaming services, so it doesn’t show up in the hub.
I think you won’t get a hub populated with local media, because the app would need to query each server and each shared server individually to actually populate the hub.
Each time you’re visiting the home page again.
Correct.
I talk about the API query problems here.
I don’t see why that should matter. The Watchlist has memorized items in it from the Plex database and if you visit the Watchlist page all the items show up just fine. It should be able to display those in a home page hub just like it displays the Continue Watching hub and all the Discover library hubs.
When you click on one of those items and open it’s dedicated page then it can query where they can be played from.
