Does anyone know why Plex doesn’t show what language every film is in?
Movies available for free on Plex seem to have the language information, e.g. Audio: Spanish (Stereo).* Rentals do not show this information. Neither do movies that are unavailable on Plex. IMDB shows the language for every film and that’s where the metadata comes from ![]()
Even more peculiar, I added a few movies from my own library to the watchlist to see what would happen and the audio says ‘none’ for one and there’s zero info for the other. Like, that information is literally in the file on my server. The inconsistencies for what information is provided where is really strange.
I’ve added a ton of films to my watchlist due to recommendations on Facebook groups. Specifically, gay films, where foreign language seems to outweigh English. The cast and crew are usually a pretty good indicator if a film is in a foreign language. Just a little frustrating when picking a movie to watch while doing chores, or when I can’t be bothered to read subtitles at the end of the day.
Anyone know of a setting, workaround, or extension that would force Plex to display that information?
