When they added the “streaming search” function it created a homepage tab called “Watchlist” where you can add title to it watch later. I added a bunch of my digital media titles to this list, but there is no way on the PS4 /PS5 to select plex as a way to play them, it just says streaming isn’t currently available. You can select your server when looking at the tab in the windows browser.
So the company that created a platform to collect, organize and stream your digital media added a feature that doesn’t allow you to play your digital media. Help me have this make sense? This watchlist is a nice feature to break away from creating playlists that replicate this, allowing users to keep playlists for more permanent reasons. That you can’t play plex server media flagged to the watchlist is just goofy.
If it’s a licensing thing then allow us to remove the streaming search feature permanently from our plex servers. I’m already not a fan of the new search bar on the window browser version (no longer loads a full page showing all the items from the search), and the streaming gimmick makes that worse. I paid for plex to sort my digital media, not to sell streaming platforms.
