hello i am currently look for a way to connect my folks wdtv box to my plex server so they can enjoy my vast movie collection. or if this is even possible ?sorry if this is posted anywhere else if it is can you direct me to that thread
activate DLNA in plex's preferences and you're set
(I presume the wdtv box and your plex server are on the same local network, DLNA works only on a local network)
They need to install on a rubbing pc plex server, the. Make a my plex account for them, then share your content with hem vi plex.tv/servers, then sign them into their plex server at their house using their my plex account. Make sure Dlna is enabled in settings and their pc is on same local net as wdtv.
Go then to wdtv box, find the dlna for plex, go to folder called remote videos and should see your content accessible for them.
The local pc for then will need to be powerful enough to transcode the video.
