Web Browser Connection Issue

First, I am a Plex Pass subscriber and love the service.

Little about my server;
CentOS release 6.8 (Final)
Linux 2.6.32-642.13.1.el6.x86_64
Plex Version 2.13.0

Port Forward rules are in place. WAN (External IP) has not changed. Device IP has not changed, is static.
Machine responds to ICMP (ping) requests. Nmap verifies port 32400 is open on my router.

I can access all my media on my phone (LG V10) using the Plex app.
I can access all my media through Plex app on Roku, PS4, XBOX, and Amazon Fire Stick.

I cannot access my media through the web browser both locally and externally. “A server could not be found”

I appreciate any help… Thank you.

Didn’t end up by working… Had a rage moment and deleted everything; /var/lib/plexmediaserver - gone. I uninstalled and reinstalled Plex using the step-by-step process here; https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200288586-Installation and here https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201941078-Uninstall-Plex-Media-Server

Fresh install and still no luck.

I can view Plex locally through a web browser at localhost:32400/web, and view my media, but when I try and sign in. The sign in tells me “There was a problem signing in to Plex.” I’m also not allowed to “Manually specify the public port”

Frustrated…

Stop plex server
edit your Preferences.xml and set secureConnections to the value 2
you may also set allowedNetworks to your local network (at least temporarily, e.g. 192.168.2.0/24)
start Plex server
open Plex Web, go to Settings - Web - ‘Allow Fallback to Insecure Connections’ = “in same network as server”
Then reload Plex web.

I hope, your server is signed into the same plex.tv account as your web browser?
If not, you must reset a few preferences more https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/204281528-Why-am-I-locked-out-of-Server-Settings-and-how-do-I-get-in-

That is the issue, I can’t sign in. I get a “There was a problem signing in” error. The server can be accessed both locally and externally though.

A server that is not ‘signed in’ to a plex account cannot be accessed externally.
So your trouble must be that you cannot ‘sign in’ the plex web app to the right account.

Take another look at the Preferences.xml file.
What does it say under PlexOnlineMail and PlexOnlineUsername
Are these the same that you are trying to sign into with the web app?

Yes, they are. Verified by signing into Plex.tv and looking at account settings.

Are you using a different plex.tv account than the one you are posting here with?

Web connection issues. All my accounts are compromised I can’t access them without someone else tampering with them.

Yes, using the exact same credentials as what I’m posting with.

Here is something. I can ping sites from the device; reddit.com, amazon.com, google.com, but I can’t ping plex.tv at all. 100% packet loss.

uh, oh.
Does your ISP hate Plex, perhaps?
What happens if you use a different DNS server than the one from your ISP? (try Google’s 8.8.8.8)

I am using Google’s public DNS lol I even switched it to Comcast’s DNS to see if it would work, which it did not.

I’m going to start calling both Comcast and Plex here in a moment.

Thanks again for attempting to help me though

Do you have a filter set somewhere (router?) which prevents contact to foreign countries?
The major part of plex.tv is hosted in Ireland, so this needs to be whitelisted.

So, no fix as of yet. Let’s try something else… I running dual NICs (mode 5) on my server, I’ll post the info that I think is useful. Is anyone else having issues with dual network cards?
