Auto-Play, no, I don’t mean the one that plays the next episode after x seconds, the new one.
If I’m listening to music and pause it, do something else for a while in another tab or window and then return to plex it starts playing.
That is crazy.
Users make the action to pause (because they choose to) but when Users return to Plex, their actions and freedom to choose are gone, instead, you get mini heart attacks every time plex decides to hit play. What makes this scenario truly mad is that I can’t find an option to turn this off. Anyone else frustrated about this?

No its not the spacebar, it happens to me everyday, both on my mac and PC.
When leaving plex paused in another tab, that is not in focuis, for approximately an hour to kind of idle out, as soon as I return back it starts playing!
I tried it actually, I like listening to albums, so gapless playback was exciting, but that tiny interface is quite limiting and having to go to a different app just for my music library kind of takes away what I love about Plex.
Are you actually just pausing playback, but leaving the browser tab open?
Or are you closing the tab and the playback is commencing as soon as you re-open the tab with the web app?
I am still trying to recreate it here on Windows in Chrome.
Either I am switching too frequently to the browser tab in question or there is something else differently about our environments.
Which browser add-ins are you using? And did you disable any of them already for the Plex web app “web site”?
Just a thought, but try going to chrome://flags/#automatic-tab-discarding, and see if that flag is enabled - if so, disable it, and see if that fixes your issue.
Here is the description if what it does:
Automatic tab discarding
If enabled, tabs get automatically discarded from memory when the system memory is low. Discarded tabs are still visible on the tab strip and get reloaded when clicked on. Info about discarded tabs can be found at chrome://discards. –Mac, Windows
This is set to ‘Enabled’ by default in the latest version of Chrome, and the Plex tab being reloaded could potentially cause it to start playing again. Again, just a thought.
Sorry, I still couldn’t recreate the issue on my side.
The only issue I get is that the player is restored in paused state when I closed the tab. But no spontaneous unpausing. And whether that is an actual issue is at least debatable.
