Stop Autoplay on Opening Plex Media Player on PC (windows10-64)

Hello,
Apologies but I couldn’t find this in the forum, much to my surprise. For several weeks now I find that each time I open Plex on my PC it starts to play whatever I was listening to/ watching beforehand.
I always stop the whatever I am watching or listening to before shutting down Plex. Still, each time I open it up whatever was my last media it starts playing automatically. Even if I stop, say watching a video. Then click on a different library without opening up a different media. When I close then open again it will play go back to the last playing media and play it from where I left off. I am not aware of making any changes to bring this into effect and it wasn’t doing that before.

Any ideas on how I stop this from happening, please?

I am having the same problem with Plex. I have been looking on the internet for quite some time and haven’t found anyway to solve it.

This is why I came here but I’m running Plex Media Player 2.21.0.914-4839cbf2 on Mac OS 10.13.6.

Is this really the intended behavior? It’s driving me crazy.

Have you tried deleting your AppData for PlexMediaPlayer and starting fresh?
%LocalAppData%\PlexMediaPlayer on Win10.

it may not be a specific PMP bug as plexweb (chrome) is doing it as well for me since the last 4 weeks or so, started playing a soon as i open it plexweb - it is annoying

whats also annoying if you have 1 tab open in plexweb playing something then open another tab with plexweb it also starts auto playing the same episode (but 5 seconds behind)

For whatever reason, I don’t see it with the web app, only Plex Media Player. If I watch the “Now Playing” page in the web app and open and quit Plex Media Player I can see it adding streams every time it opens and begins playing. If I hit stop playback sometimes they go away, but not always? I tried to stop playback of all the streams to Plex Media Player just now and got it back down to two streams shown, but the “Stop playback” option is not available for those two.

Very irritating.

Ok, I deleted ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Player and ~/Library/Caches/Plex Media Player and I didn’t see the issue any more, until I reenabled Settings > General > Automatically Sign In.

With that setting enabled it automatically starts playing when I open it :\

Same problem here, and it’s infuriating.

Chrome, Win10, Player 3.69.1, Server 1.13.9.5456

This issue is annoying the bejeezus out of me. Play something, pause it or close the browser. Next day, start Plex and bam, auto playing whatever it was. Doesn’t matter if it was paused. Happens in the web browser and the media player.

Edit: This has been fixed.
