Tap this link on your TouchPad: http://developer.palm.com/appredirect/?packageid=com.plexapp.webos-client.beta
3.0.4 is the minimum version required, you're fine on 3.0.5
//b0bben
0.6.7 is in the catalog now, you should receive an notification about it on your TouchPad (if you installed via AppCatalog).
New in this version:
- Watched/unwatched flags all over the place
- Better myplex/local sections updating mechanism
- Add server manually, for those times when auto-discovery isn’t finding anything.
I’m very interested in how setting up of servers is working for you with all the options now (auto-discovery, myplex, manual).
This will be instrumental in the user experience of this app for the final version.
Thx for hammering at this beast ppl, <3 all around!

i’ve tried to update, but it’s been hanging on “installing…” for the last 30 mins… going to try and reboot and see if that helps.
Can someone please point out the very obvious mistake i’m making whilst trying to download from the app catalogue?
I see no download/install link on the page linked above.
What am I missing?
Got the notification of the new release and installed. Still the same: it recognizes myplex login, it lists my plex media server by its nickname and says it is “online”. I exit that preferences screen via “done”, and nothing. There are no PMS to select from.
bhome and the other TP upnp app both see and access the plex server, so I dont think it is the server side.
again, thanks for this. I know I must be thaaaaaaat close!
I ended up having the App Catalog webpage send me the download link to my Google Voice number, because I too could not get a download from the original link. I then logged into Google Voice on my Touchpad, and copied and pasted the link into my address bar. Even though its the same link that b0bben posted, its the only way I could get it to launch in the App Catalog app rather than the webpage.
Just requires an SMS to be sent and then if you refresh the page it will allow you to download. I'll wait and see if I suddenly start getting Palm/HP Spam now, as I did use my own #
WebOS Plex is definitely more stable now, and more user-friendly! Thank you very much indeed!
For you having problems accessing plex via link above, try this: http://developer.palm.com/appredirect/?packageid=com.plexapp.webos-client.beta
I’ve edited the url above as well, it seems it has to be http and not https for webos to recognize it.
Sorry for the confusion ppl.

Hi, please see my post above for a solution.
Sorry :(
//b0bben
Just installed new version and after adding my server it works great. I haven’t tried seeking or anything since it was noted that it won’t work yet but it opens, lists my server, and plays video.
In other words, all I was looking for! Great work b0bben
Hi,
Thx for the kind words, i really appreciate it!
A question: did you manage to see the watched/unwatched flags on movies and episodes?
Were they hard to spot? Did you understand them (unwatched/partially watched)?
Thx!
//b0bben
They stayed consistent with the default Plex interface and I felt like I was picking up where I left off on my TV so they worked great :) (They were a little off-center from the poster though (maybe 5px a little too much to the left) but great otherwise.
The only other minor thing I saw was that when you select a movie title, the movie art that displays in the background of the description is a bit squished horizontally since they're meant for wider screens. Not sure how to remedy that other than clipping the image to fit properly or scaling it down and leaving black space on the top and bottom...
Its not working for me. No servers show up and Plex is empty. I do have it working in cm7 on touchpad but not in webos. Using windows 7 and Cisco Linksys E1200 router.
Likewise macbook server running snow leopard shows up in local wifi but no channels. I wish I knew what was blocking my home wifi from communicating with each other. My airport is in bridge mode, the arris router from TWX connects to the Ooma modem which then connects to airport.
Is this the best place to report bugs to then?
Here are some I’ve found since 0.6.6:
When in a section (movies, music, etc.) if I click on that same section again, it freezes up and only a reboot will fix.
Scrubber. I know, you mentioned it doesn’t work, but I really think it would be nice if you made your own, not used the built in one. I don’t really like it, it’s too hard to accurately move around. Also, if you could make it so that it is on the very bottom and not in the middle of the screen, that would be sweet.
If, say, I click on movies and while it’s loading I drag the window on the right to the left to make it full screen, the scrim doesn’t cover the whole thing and it’s kinda ugly…
Bugs probably related to server and not the app:
Is there somewhere better I should post this? I’m not sure if you (b0bben) are the one working on the PMS, but it has some issues I’d like resolved.
Thanks for your hard work dev.
Running Plex in Windows 7 and Actiontec router.
IOS and Android apps find the plex server on the network by its name, both work fine. Would you please implement this find feature.
This app asks for either myplex account, or the IP address of the Plex server. I don’t know what that IP is and don’t know how to find it. First tried the IP shown on my itouch for the connected server, no go. Then tried setting my computer up with a static ip, then input this address in the TP, but the app does not recognize it.
Also tried Myplex account, it connected and did recognize my three folders in Plex on my computer, but could not find any files. Just getting a circle.
Any ideas? Oh well thanks again and I’ll wait for the full app.
Hi Booben
One question.
As the TP is able to manage 720p and 1080p movies locally,
Would it be possible to force the server not to use the transconding?
I mean, I understand the film is transcoded in the server depending on the capacity of the client, right? But, if the HP is able to reproduce this films locally, it should be able to manage a “hard streaming” and without losing any quality. Does it make any sense? Maybe as an option in the Plex client so anyone can check and decide depending on the spare capacity of the local Wifi?.
Regards
Hi,
That's theoretically possible, but you would still need to watch each video in your library at least once, so it gets streamed over and saved on disk on the TP.
It wouldn't last for long either, TP has only what, 8gb of space?
This is faaaar down on my list.
Sorry.

So I could not get the client to see my plex server. Until I installed plex on another computer. With it on more than one computer it is showing up in the app. If I disabled the second server neither would show. If I disabled the first server neither would show. So might be something in the coding with that.
Hi,
Was the "other" comp a Mac?
This is because all Plex servers on a local network know about each other, and i use that to find the servers. So as soon as I find one server via auto-discovery, i ask that server to provide me with info about the others.
