DVR is only writing MKV now.
I DO NOT have it set to transcode. that is set to OFF
I need subtitles. With the TS files, I can extract them.

I agree,
Before the latest update i would record .ts, and now it records only MKV, and i have noticed it is constantly transcoding while recording, this is crazy, my Plex has worked flawlessly recording .ts
What it the latest version of the DVR Beta that enables .ts recording, i would like a download link so i can go back a step and run and use that version
i look at my server and three or Fours transcoding sessions are running all because it it is now MKV.
Not acceptable to change without informing
More plex BS.
Who cares what thier users want or need
A work around could be to download a srt file, name it the same as the show, and put it in the same folder. I then set Automatically select audio and subtitle tracks and set Subtitle mode to Always Enabled.
Once that was done when viewing a show with a srt file present I get an indicator that subtitles exist.

I downloaded the srt file I tested with from https://subscene.com/
Not sure what this describes.
New tv shows do not have subtitles avaialble
How is taking a subtitle file and renaming it going to help?
jwaltrip4 are your recording clean even though you don’t have subtities? I haven’t really seen many of the mkv files come thru clean for me, i have been seeing lots of streaming issues and recordings being pixelated and generally crappy quality, which was never the problem in the past under the ts formats.
The few i have looked at seemed to ne ok…
This release has come out right as the tv seasons are on hiatus, so not many recordings.
I will run some tests
@skraemertx Can I ask which country you’re in?
usa…
Subtitles from the internet are usually geared towards a specific release of a show. I’d be surprised if they just worked perfectly for your own recording of a show. Commercials vary, time codes are different, etc.
I’m holding off on upgrading and sticking with TS extracting subs to SRT
correct on that.
Also… new episodes are not likely to have subs available even if you could get them to work.
Any word on Subtitles?
