Hello,
Ever since the upgrade to DVR 1.7.XXX i have had this problem, my tuners (HD HomeRun) no longer record into .ts, and the subtitle/closed caption is no longer recorded, this is a real pain, my machine now endlessly is transcoding while its recording and its an old mac mini, it seems to be for ever doing something, my tuners record OTA UK DVB-T,
For years i have been watching .ts recording that were in Eye TV, way before the Plex DVR beta came out,
So i thought ok, no heads up on the MKV change, so i went back to Plex DVR 1.5.1, but now my friends who use Plex for LG (NetCast) on their Telly can no longer watch anything from my server when i go back to 1.5.1, they get a red box showing up,
This is the error when i go back a version
Error “Conversion Failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install”
and that is shown on every bit of content on my server regardless of age, let alone anything i have recorded"
So what is going on…
Also i have noticed when i try to watch on my safari or chrome i get the same red box, this is infuriating.
so i am now forced to run 1.7.xxx and have no subtitles in my recordings,
Why was this changed, i also run Emby for OTA recording and live streaming of Telly, as i mainly use a Roku and this app is brilliant, and it records in .ts
Please can we have some sort of proper explanation, i have noticed a fresh update this morning which is messing with the remux… i am worried where all these updates are going,
Honestly Emby is looking much easier for me right now, which is a shame i have been with Plex since way back when
.ts was fine and it worked perfectly from the OTA so why was this changed, if it is todo with future live TV streaming at least give us a chance to use a fresh Beta with live TV streaming, i have used Emby for this and the HDViewer plugin and even Elgato EyeTV for years now so why is Plex finding it so hard to integrate or even make it work
lambiepie
And yes Subtitles from a .ts is important because i have a few friends from around the world who enjoy UK telly that i have shared for them and the subtitles help them as they do not always understand the British Slang…
Sorted…
