What’s going on with the playlists lately? They’re broken everywhere.
In Home Theater (which I still use because Player is too problematic), when I start playing an unwatched episode, it’ll only play two in a row (so far that seems to be the magic number) before randomly playing one much earlier in the list. One that’s already been watched.
In Media Player, it doesn’t show unwatched videos at all. This makes the function utterly useless.
In the Android version, it no longer shows unwatched videos (if it did ever… I honestly don’t know about playlists).
Thanks for the information. I haven’t heard of OpenPHT and I may try it but not likely. I’m trying to stick with the official software for consistency (I’m not the only one in the house who uses it) and am disappointed by the breaking of playlist functionality on multiple platforms.
If you want to stay with PHT, you really need to switch over to OpenPHT. As you know, Plex dropped support for PHT and the broken playlist (and other issues) aren’t going to be addressed by Plex. However, Ned’s already made a bunch of posts about fixing that and the other issues with an upcoming OpenPHT release - so I would make the switch.
I’m not concerned with staying with PHT. I’ve only stayed with it because Media Player playlists aren’t working. Neither are the Android apps. And now, as of yesterday, playlists in PHT simply do not show up at all.
I’m not interested in switching software - that’s not the point of this post. I’d like to see the broken items fixed in the existing software. They did work, now they don’t.

Yes, they have said that the next upcoming server version will fix the compatibility problems with PHT which 1.0 introduced. So you’re fine to stay with your current client.
However, I must also point out that PHT is in fact discontinued by Plex, and that OpenPHT is the exact same thing, but things work much better in it because it’s actually updated to work with new features and etc. I get that it isn’t your point to switch client but to switch would be the same as updating to a new PHT version to fix these kinds of problems.
And don’t mind that advocates of it like @nedthenerd are acting like butthurt teenagers in this forum from time to time. It’s actually a very professionally handled software.

Are you always this disrespectful to people who give up their free time to provide free software?
Bit double edged really, on one hand I’m a ‘butthurt teenager’, and on the other hand we provide ‘professionally handle software’!
