Why when I try to log in does it say login successful only to follow up with a login error has occurred, and I have to login in 10 times to get in?
Why is it so hard to navigate the UI now?
Why are you shoving your garbage features and content down my throat?
Why do I need to go in to the registry to change where the plex data is stored, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This was in the menu before it was super easy. Why did you do this!?!?!
Obviously a problem that isn’t happening to most users, or else there would be more reports. So if you’d like to start a thread with some details about what’s happening, maybe someone can help you.
Is it? You don’t mention which UI, but in general, I find Plex’s current UI to be the best they’ve ever had. I certainly have my opinions about things that could be better, but I make them known with specifics. Some have been changed.
My throat’s fine. I don’t use much of the online content features, and it’s pretty simple to turn them off.
Plex is having some issues with their plex.direct DNS servers. This would affect a client application’s ability to find your server and potentially cause login issues. There was also a problem yesterday evening with the auth servers.
This is very subjective. I don’t find the UI difficult to navigate, personally. What do you find problematic?
Again, this is pretty subjective. I personally have enjoyed some of the ad supported movies.
This setting was removed due to security concerns. It was described in more detail in some post which eludes me (it may have been the server release notes).
Edit: Yes, I was thinking of the Plex Media Server release notes for 1.19.3.2793:
I doubt they’ve forgotten. They just want to make Plex into a content provider in hopes of better cash flow.
However, I think they shot themselves in the foot when they changed EPG providers which was supposed to have a side benefit of allowing them to create an enhanced and unified database for music and video. Makes me wonder if they’ve basically stalled on consumer feature requests because now they are just trying to keep up with bug fixes and data management.
I was happily watching a video when everything started dying. Even trying to view the Settings page on my server shows a media error. So, to answer the OP’s question, I’d say “about 20 minutes ago”
