When is Plex going to get spatial audio working?

Server Version#:latest shield tv
Player Version#: latest client

I don’t know understand why we can edit config files on a plex server (not exactly the same with shield tv) but Plex can’t natively support spatial audio out of the box.

Can someone perhaps help me out with why they seem to be dragging so much on this feature which is clearly supported but not implemented in any user friendly way? I mean- plenty of time for b movies for cord cutter simplicity but not this? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Further to that I am not sure how to edit these files on shield tv (new to me and honestly not loving Plex server on that either) - presumably I either have to file transfer or install ssh. After which I’ll have to reinstall them every time there’s a server update?

If I can edit a config, why can’t Plex put it in there instead? Apple natively supports 5.1 to spatial. It’s a profile problem… so why haven’t the profiles been fixed?

Cheers

Can you elaborate, with specifics, cause I don’t understand what you are referring to.

What “spatial” audio format?

What file type or extension/container?

What source are the files coming from? Online/dvd/Blu-ray/what?

H264, mkv with eac (I’ll have to double check if the eac file I’m using right now is right - but I believe it is with the desktop Plex and custom profiles)

Spatial audio - Apple spatial audio: what is it? How do you get it? | What Hi-Fi?

If we go in and manually edit profiles we can get it. But maybe have to use the old player - or it kicks in using Picture in Picture without profile edits.

Very strange
