When or will Plex Live TV be available for Australia?

Will this be available for users in Australia any time soon? Also, if I were to purchase the required tuner etc, would I be able to “tell” Plex that I am in another county / area and stream live tv from those regions?

That’s weird, I have it in NZ. Watched a few channels on my iPhone and works fine.

It works in Australia today, and no, you can’t ‘trick’ it, because it’s picking up the signal thats available today. Unless you physically put your tuner/antenna in another place.

hmmm… when I search for available channels in the “channel lookup” it says “couldn’t find any OTA providers”.

@keithah what hardware are you using?

@WillMcMichael Unfortunately that lookup isn’t perfect. Some areas don’t have ‘Local Over the Air Broadcast’ section listed, so that lookup page doesn’t work, but we do definitely support Australia. In some areas, the guide data is iffy, and you may have to subscribe to IceTV right now to get better guide data, but it does work.

I use an HDHomeRun and I’m not in Australia, but @DaveBinM is and can comment.

@WillMcMichael Whereabouts in Australia are you? :slight_smile: I’m in Melbourne, and can confirm it works quite well here. You can pick up pretty much all Freeview Channels (I don’t think there’s guide data for the infomercial channels, but I think that’s okay :wink: )

I assume that this will pick up Free to Air channels only and no pay tv?

@WillMcMichael Yeah, I’m using a HDHR Connect. Yes, only FTA channels. Pay TV is often encrypted, and requires specialised (approved) hardware and software to work. The guide comes from Gracenote (the same people who provide guide data to TiVo, and some the Android TVs in Australia), so that should give you an idea on the guide. :slight_smile:

I too thought it was not supported in Australia, as when you look on here;

You look up Australia and it returns “Sorry, we couldn’t find any OTA providers!”

Put when I looked in the menu on my Android TV app it was there.

Mmm, I’m not 100% sure on that box, but I can verify it works in Australia. I’ll see what I can find out about that box to get it working.
