When will a 'subs' subfolder be supported?

I currently have to manually move subtitle files out of the ‘subs’ subdirectory for them to be recognized by Plex. Why are none of the subtitle files in the subs folder not being recognized? Is this really not supported? When will such a basic thing become supported?

Ideally it would be like so:
/moviesLibrary
/Batman Begins (2005)
Batman Begins (2005).mp4
poster.jpg
/subs
Batman Begins (2005).eng.srt

I don’t use subtitles at all, but I don’t see anything in the Plex documentation that suggests this is supported.
