Where are my recordings?

Hi-

I am running 1.12.2.4929 on Ubuntu and have an issue with Plex not finding the recordings it made. The files are recorded and moved from the .grab directory to the appropriate “./Show Name (Year)/Season xx/Show Name - SXXEXX - Title.ts” location/format. Unfortunately the file never shows up in the library under certain circumstances:

If I add the parent directory (for example /home/myname/TVShows/ is the parent with Show Name (Year) under that directory and I add /home/myname/TVShows) the files are not found. If I add /home/myname/TVShows/Show Name (Year)/Season xx/ to the library files are found fine.

It does not matter if I use a TV or Movie type of container neither finds the files in subdirectories.

This seems to be localized to .ts files as I have plenty of other files in a /Movie/Movie Name (Year)/ or /TV/Show Name (Year)/ format which work fine. The only difference I have identified are that I manually load and store my other files as .mkv, .mp4, etc. but not .ts whereas these are automatically saved and stored as .ts.

Anyone who has thoughts on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If the files have the SXXEXX in the file name then you need to use a TV library. the movie scanner intentionally ignores them.

have you looked at the scanner logs after one is added or you hit the “scan library files”?
