Where can i find the settings in plex media player, NOt THE WINDOWS STORE VERSION....

hello all,

i see all these guides that show a nice inteface for plex media player, and for me all the plex media player looks like is the same exact web interface that doesnt work well at all. i have been using plex for ht for the last year, and now all the sudden it crashes every single time it connects to my server and tries to display on deck. so i switched to the new app. the plex media player.

well, none of what i have installed directly from plex site looks anyhting like the site shows. just looks like a webpage in a frame, which definitly isnt worth releasing an app for, has NO SETTINGS PAGE, and thats useless. sucks even more is a piad for a year and it doesnt even work right…smh

the only other threads were someone saying your not using the right app, which i know i am, as i did not download the webpage in a box version from there either, i downloaded straight from plex site with pp downloads enabled.

tell me where the settings ans the REAL app are, or throw a refund my way. please, and thanks.

Sounds like you aren’t in full screen mode.

Without a screenshot of what you’re seeing, my only guess is that you have switched your app into desktop mode instead of the normal TV Layout.

If that is the case there should be a row of buttons in the top right corner and the one with the screen with 2 arrows pointing to the corners will return you back to normal. This support article explains the different modes in more detail:

guys, thanks. i will go try it out now. im just so used to plex for HT. now my big question is xbmc and kodi have great remote support. as in all the buttons on a standard hp media center remote worked. is this true in this new software as well?

WOW, FInal answer on this, i like the layout. i just really liked the listing styl eon xbmc, it was a little tighter list mode. thanks for all the help, i did not realize that in non desktop mode you couldnt see that.

so i want to mark this as answered good.

new question, and i will kill the thread after that, if i replace the web interface folder with the contents of the tv interface folder, as in exact copy, will it load tv interface in both views or will it kill it?

Don’t want to leave you hanging, but I typically only use my PMP install to watch shows on my second screen so I don’t really know for sure.

The best advice I could say would be to try it out. And either make a backup of the folder before you do it or hang on to the install file so you can restore it afterwards if it breaks something.
