Where do I find the exact step-by-step details to execute a media player update?

Where do I find the exact step-by-step details to execute a media player update?
The download has a file extension of .SPK.
When I try to open it, I get a message there is no program that can open that file extension.
I looked in the Help area and I can find nothing that specifically addresses how to load a new updates.
Any thoughts or details would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Download SPK from plex.tv/downloads for your Synology
  2. Package Center -> Manual Update
  3. Browse to the file you just downloaded.
  4. Select and OK
  5. Install.
