Where the hell are plex admins?

I’m sick and tired of major issues and bugs not even getting a response. They owe us at least an acknowledgement to show they are listening. Ignoring us really ticks us off more than anything else. Every issue should get some sort of forum response within 12 hours. If you can’t at least pretend like you care, then just shut your service down and we’ll all move on. Service levels are straight up abominable. You can’t put up and major update and then not be prepared to respond to immediate glitches. Less time should be spent on superficial layout changes and more on addressing issues.

Plex support is done by Plex Ninja's and Plex Team Members primarily as well as the community
Ref: Forum Community Guidelines | Plex Support

I assume, that you want developers to actively participate in the thread, but do consider the fact, that Plex is not only a small Company, but also the fact, that the price you pay does not warrant this, and the developers needs to do what they do best = develop

So to summerize:

On the Plex forums, you’ll find the following people to support you:

  • Users like your self
  • Ninja’s (Users like your self, that has been granted moderation rights, due to their knowledge and dedication)
  • Team Members (People paid to do work for Plex, and generally cover the forums)
  • Plex Employee’s (Some are paid to monitor the forums, other has other internal tasks)

In general, if you have a specific problem, you can’t expect the actual developer to cover your issue, but sometimes they do in their spare time though

And if this is what you want, then note that Plex then have to step up regarding the amount of Employee’s => added cost => You have to pay!

Also do note , that the majority of Plex users sadly doesn’t have a Plex Pass, but if they all did, life would indeed be nice, and support from devs might change

So when you push through an update that doesn’t work as it’s supposed to, and even causes the app to stop working, what are we supposed to do about it? Because it sounds like you think that’s not Plex’s responsibility to respond to that. Other users can help with technical questions, but only assuming the app is actually functioning as it’s supposed to. They aren’t going to fix the program.

If using a Plex Pass Build (Beta) then report it on the forums, and either Ninja’s or Team members will raise the problem internally
Then downgrade to the public (None Plex Pass) version

If on a public vesion, simply report it, and we will forward it

And when said,

AFAICT:
About 90% of all issues that are reported are actually user problems!

Great. I love how you’re blaming users for public updates that don’t work properly. I’m not talking about beta issues. But they are pushing through updates that aren’t working properly and are NOT the fault of users. They admit to not testing things on every platform before sending out updates, so they need to be prepared when updating apps to deal with any glitches. Some, like the last one, are major and cause the app to not work properly. Yet, we have no choice but to live with it or hope that sometime down the road someone will get the information to developers. That’s not an effective system at all when something effectively stops working.

And they certainly don’t promote this product like someone’s pet project. It should clearly state before downloading it that there is zero timely developer support unless the problem affects the developers personally. I’ve been using this product for a couple of years now. I know when things that did work all of a sudden stop due to faulty updates.

So if you’d like to explain how Plex skipping ahead for multiple users on this forum during playback after the last update is someone our fault, I’m happy to listen. If not, Plex needs to have a way to receive immediate feedback on the issue. They should downgrade immediately until the issue can be addressed, but that’s not possible if they aren’t even listening.

Huh, I never said that!

I fail to see that, but do note that a PP build is considered a Beta build!

But when said, you asked Where the hell are plex admins? and I did answer!

If you have a specific problem, then post a new thread, and tag it properly

And closing this one, since on the road to nowhere!
