Which formats can I use for music libraries?

I have set up Plex for the first time. My media library has 3 directories with different versions of the same music: uncompressed audio in FLAC format, compressed audio for my Cowen audio player, in ogg-vorbis, and AAC compressed audio for my iPhone. Generally, I rip my CD’s with Exact Audio Copy into uncompressed FLAC files, then I run a dbPowerAmp batch conversion to compress them into ogg-vorbis and AAC formats.

Which formats can I use with Plex? If supported, should I choose the FLAC files? Does the choice depend on the end devices that will be playing the music from the Plex server?

Thanks!

You can use all three if you wish. Plex will happily recognise and use either format.
Although I’d recommend the aac files over the ogg files.
If you want lossless quality, the flac files are indeed your best option.

Excellent! Thanks very much.
