Hi all,
I’m going to be looking for a new’ish GPU soon for my Ubuntu based Plex Media Centre, and would like to know which Nvidia Quadro GPU is the best for allowing multiple Hardware Transcodes?
My server is an old i5 3330, with the Nvidia GTX 750ti currently installed. Yeah I know, the CPU is old, but it runs great for 720p, which is mainly all I pump out, especially with a 10Mbps upload at present, but around the home everything is Gigabit or WiFi.
I’m also looking at a proper server in the future after seeing a few on eBay, and was also wondering if I can run a standard desktop Linux on those as they have 2xXeon CPU on board with up to 64Gb RAM…
Many thanks for any information on both these questions, I know the second question will give me use of my trusty i5 desktop back, which I’ll probably use still as a second Plex server for streaming music… A little overkill
