For which meta tags inside a mp4 file, will the Plex Video Files Scanner look for? I figured out the basic ones like title, year, artist, subtitle and genre. But are there more? Does a documentation for the Files Scanner exist?

from some playing-around I noticed Plex will also use fields like actor / director / writer.
I believe I’ve seen a reference to Plex using either the album or grouping tag to populate collections.

And I have found out that plex will apply the copyright tag to the studio field.

personally I’d just play this out with a test file.
get a MP4 tagger of your choice (Subler on macOS, I’m sure there’s tons of others for Win and Linux), create a sample file (but don’t name it “Sample”), fill it with every available tag (e.g. enter “Album” as Album, “Director” as Director…) and check which of them are recognized by Plex (or mapped to what field). When verifying which field shows up where, you might want to take a look at the XML file of the movie (Show Information > As XML).
