Why am I being asked to activate plex on certain devices?

Hi, hoping someone can help. I have been using plex for years to watch my content across many devices (fire stick, Apple TV’s throughout the house, iPads and iPhones). I have recently added an amazon fire hd8 to the household and I am now being asked to Activate Plex ?

Our mobile apps are not free. App purchases are tied to the app store you purchased it from. Purchases of any app cannot be shared between different app store accounts. Making an app purchase from the Apple iTunes app store for your iOS device is tied to your AppleID not your Plex account. It does not allow use of apps from the Google, Amazon or other app store.

The purchase is tied to your app store account. You can download and use on any Android device with the app store you originally purchased it from with the app store account you purchased it with. For instance, if you purchase the app through Google Play, then the purchase will apply to any Android device using the same Google Play account. The purchase does not extend to a different Google Play account, nor does it extend to other app stores, such as Amazon or iTunes.
