I’m watching my own content streamed from my local network. I have a windows 11 server and both my xbox series x and roku Plex apps are requiring me to sit through 30 seconds of ads. I have a paid membership.
Either you turned on pre-roll trailers, or you are accidentally viewing one of Plex’s own free offerings. Go to your own media, not the one in continue watching to find out.
That is what happened. I started a series and was missing an episode, and it seamlessly went to a free offering. I didn’t know that it would do that. Thanks.
Wow, that is.. actually kind of nice. Generally, when someone comes on here talking about advertising, it is taking the place of an owned episode/series. I didn’t know that it could seamlessly go from owned to free-ad-based (and hopefully back, once you get to an episode you have).
I had to explicitly select “TV Shows” on my media server to force my owned copy and not the “Continue Watching” section. It might have been some caching issue though that kept it on the fee-ad-based. I’m sure it will all be restored tomorrow.
