Trancoding almost all videos

Hello,

I wanted just to know why I almost need all times to transcode my avi and mkv files when watching videos from the browser in the plex media webpage ip:32400 and for example not needing to when watching them on the mobile phone.

It is just giving me only these options, can not choose the direct stream: https://image.prntscr.com/image/j1S8-JhhSP6qIgiqrLn7Rw.png

Also some tv shows are not showing the new button in the bottom to change the episode, any idea of why is that also happening?

Plex Web uses what the browser supports. You can try different browsers but most modern browsers are focusing their playback capabilities on MP4 containers and H264 encoded videos with MP3/AAC audio (rarely AC3).
Your phone on the other hand uses a native player that apparently supports more formats and therefore doesn’t require transcoding. If you want to improve the playback experience on your notebook/desktop you might want to consider installing Plex Media Player (download via https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app).

PS: please don’t post screenshots rubbing into people’s face that you downloaded / fileshared those movies (-> filenames)

By the way, any idea about the character selector at the bottom of the page as I said?
