Why are subtitles dark gray?

Server Version#: v1.19.3.2764-ef515a800 on Synology DS918+ x86_64 DSM 6.2.2.24922-4, Processor Intel® Celeron® CPU J3455 @ 1.50GHz
Player Version#: 1.11.0.1215-1d8c460c

A movie on macOS app is playing with dark gray subtitles, but on iPadOS and tvOS the subtitles are white (in a grayish box).

Is there a way to change subtitle appearance on macOS?

Is there a planned fix for this?

The subtitles are useless if they are simply shown as dark gray. It pretty much renders Plex useless for macOS and movies with subtitles.

Can you take a screenshot of what you are talking about. They are very white for me and I’m going to say there would be lots folks screaming with pitch forks if it was grey for everyone.

What type of subtitles are they?

Thank you for replying!

In Playback Settings it simply says English (MOV_TEXT). I’m guessing those subtitles are in the mp4 container for the movie because there are no other files in the movie folder on the server. And, as originally mentioned, the subtitles are white when I play the same movie from my iPad (iPadOS) and Apple TV 4K (tvOS)
