Why are the descriptions of some movies in English?

I would like to ask my question:

Why are the descriptions of some movies in English?

my language is the Portuguese

Could someone let me know where I can solve this?

You could check if there’s a Portuguese translation for those movies on The Movie Database. Based on my experience Plex will pull the correct language if it’s available.

What exact language have you selected on that library?
This translation is only available for Brazilian Portuguese – so if your library is set to Portuguese Portuguese, that might not match unless you create a pt-PT translation at The Movie Database.

For Honest Thief there’s translations for both versions of Portuguese. From the text in your first screenshot I take it your library is set to pt-PT

Side note… it’s interesting that the runtime is listed as 7 minutes longer in Brazil… I always thought that’s a central setting, not subject to the translation

was in the language of portugal pt-PT and now I changed it to pt-BR, but I didn’t translate the description of the movie.

You probably need to refresh the metadata of those movies for the change to take effect.

Do you know what happens when the desired language isn’t available? Will Plex fallback to English or to the Original movie language?

I think it’ll fallback to English but I haven’t tested/verified that… I just remember getting the occasional English descriptions but rarely any Japanese ones for my Anime (=never)
