This morning I made a lengthy post about a feature request in this forum (General Discussions) because it’s also noted that this is where you should post such posts. I take my time to write everything up and I come back this evening and the post has been wiped…this really ticks me off and I think it’s extremely rude! Why not contact the poster if there is something an admin or mod doesn’t like and ask them to make whatever changes they think should be made in the post, instead of just wiping it without a word? To my knowledge, the forums are the only way to get support, direct contact to Plex is not allowed and will go unanswered according to the “contact” link. So I don’t understand why legit posts would be wiped for no reason.
It is possible that it was moved to the “Feature Request” form area because that is where they should be posted. General Discussions (Public) is not the feature request area.

I’m seeing a lot of threads throughout the forums where people blithely add a message with a simple “+1,” apparently having missed the pinned message explaining how to vote (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/46128/rules-for-this-forum-inc-how-to-vote).I just thought a quick reminder would be helpful.
Votes are recorded by clicking the “Like” button on the first post in the thread.

There are special rules for this subforum:

before you write your feature request.
Don’t give up after the first search attempt. Repeat the search using different wordings.

If you are brand new to Plex, take first some time to read the support pages and in the various forums.
Duplicate feature requests are going to be locked or erased!
There is a post that keeps track of the most popular feature requests and shows what was implemented. Making feature requests in this area here is futile. Why? Because it’s difficult to keep up with them since they drop off the front page quickly. This is why we have a specific area for them.
The sub menu for this forum states the following: General Discussions (Public)
General discussions about Plex, including feature requests.
So how did I post it in the wrong section when it says “including feature requests?”
I don’t have access to the link you gave me, it’s for Pass subscribers only. My post is not showing up under “my discussions” so I’m sure the post was wiped. I’m just curious, if there is some other special section of the forums for requests, why are they limited to pass subscribers only then? That seems like kind of a waste.
The “Feature request” forum is Plex Pass only and the OP does not have a Plex Pass so he cannot post there. and no post of his has been moved there anyway.
One thing about the “Feature request” forum is that it really has no real impact. Plex does what Plex wants regardless of the wants of their customers. For over a year or two Plex has shown no real responsiveness to their user base at all.
The feature request forum and the rest of the Plex Pass only forums are just places were we can be ignored by a higher class of Plex users.
OK sorry then, I won’t make requests anymore even though they invite them. I’m just trying to make the community/apps more user friendly. It’s a shame if they have that kind of attitude towards their users, if they don’t care then why should I, I suppose. Yet they want you to pay 149 for a Plex Pass lol… Don’t get me wrong, I think the media server and apps are great (compared to others that I’ve used they are in a league of their own) but I don’t understand the lack of care at the same time.
Oh well
Your post could just have been moved temporarily to the spam review queue. If a user posts several similarly titled things within a relatively short period, this happens automatically. I will review and restore later.
That would be great OttoKerner, yes I did post two similar items (both starting with [Feature Requested] so perhaps you could be onto something. I definitely wasn’t spamming, I just had two requests to ask and made separate posts for both. I believe one of them was moved to the Apple TV section ( didn’t put it there) but that’s where it is now. It was done Sunday morning around 6:30 in the morning Eastern time.
Thanks
Your post was not in the spam queue.
You posted this request 3 times. I deleted one of the duplicates and moved one into the appropriate subforum. since it applied to the Apple TV only.
I did not see the third copy if it, which is still here
These are your feature request threads from the last 2-3 days:
The first link is not a request, I was asking other users why it did that and if there was a way to fix it. I reposted/reworded the post with a new post titling it Feature Request, it was indeed removed, it was posted in the general section of the forums, it’s not there anymore. The one you deleted was not a duplicate, it was the one I reworded in the form of a request.
The last link is of a different issue, not the same as the other two.
I’m a bit confused here, I thought requests could only go under general? The sub menu for it specifically states to include feature requests there, that’s why I initially did not put it in Apple forum. I’m only going by what I’m reading, it says put requests here and that’s what I did. I just won’t worry about it, not like it will get fixed anyways.
The thread has been restored now and requests have been moved back to ‘public’.
Sorry for the mess up!
Otto, it’s not a problem, I’m just trying to possibly get a few bugs or missed things possibly fixed for the app. No harm intended on my side at all! Eventually I plan to upgrade to a Pass but in the meantime when I notice quirks here and there I like to make mention of it in hopes that it can be addressed for a future update. As others have said, I won’t get my hopes up but I don’t mean any harm by requesting a feature or fix either.
And just so I understand, are you saying it’s OK to make a feature request thread in other forums besides the general forum? If so I did not know that was allowed, I saw where it said “including feature requests” in the general section and figured that is where feature requests could/should go period, I was trying to follow what I thought were obvious rules.
