If you can download a playlist, why not just open op for download of singel songs direct from a album - it does not strike me as logical !
It doesn’t strike me a logical to only download a single song.
(Unless your commute is only 5 minutes long.)
IMHO it makes much more sense to prepare a playlist for on the road and download that.
With a few smart filter choices, it can be almost self-organizing. e.g. “download all tracks which were recently added and which have been rated above 3 stars”
