I only seem to be able to download an entire album/playlist to my device. I would like to be able to download just a specific track from a given album.

+1 to this request.
This seems like extremely basic functionality. I’d love to never use the Apple Music app again but as long as Plexamp is crippled in fundamental ways (like this one), Apple Music will be an easier and better user experience when I’m on the go.
Hi there,
I’m facing a frustrating problem with Plex that I hope can be addressed. Currently, I’m unable to download tracks directly from folders and albums in Plex, which poses a significant inconvenience for managing my organized music collection.
As someone who prefers organizing my music library using folders and albums, rather than relying solely on playlists, not being able to download tracks from these sources directly hinders my workflow. Whenever I come across a track or album I want to have offline or save for later, I have to go through the extra steps of creating a playlist just for the purpose of downloading.
This additional effort and time-consuming process could be easily resolved by introducing the ability to download tracks from folders and albums within Plex. By implementing a download button next to each track in these locations, similar to the existing functionality in playlists, users like myself would have a streamlined experience when it comes to acquiring specific tracks or entire albums.
Thank you for your attention and understanding.
Can’t you already do this? At least on the webapp I can download tracks fine
Hi,
Thank you for your response. I apologize for any confusion caused by the topic. While it is true that you can download tracks from the Plex web app, the specific feature I am requesting is the ability to download a single track directly from the album page or folder page.
Currently, the download functionality in Plexamp allows for downloading the whole playlist, but it does not provide the option to download individual tracks from the album, folder, or playlist view.

Just to clarify… that means you’ll end up with single-track downloads on the download page. After playing one, you’ll need to manually select what should be played next.
I also noticed that in both Plex Web and Plex App, you can click the download button for a single track in the album or song view to download that track. However, in Plexamp, there is only the option to download a track radio for a single track, but not the option to download the individual track itself. We need Plexamp to support downloading individual tracks.
Your issue actually only exists in Plexamp. The topic should be revised to focus on adding support for downloading individual tracks in Plexamp, as both Plex Web and Plex App already allow downloading single tracks, but Plexamp does not support this feature.
Plex Web and Plex Desktop can download individual tracks, but Plex Web do not support downloading entire albums.
Alright, so this is not just an issue with Plexamp.
| Download a single track | Multiple selection download (tracks) | Download the entire album | Multiple selection download (albums) | |

*Admin users can download individual tracks through the Save File feature in Plex Web, but other users do not have this option. Therefore, Plex Web can be considered as lacking a music download feature.
These are the current support statuses. We hope all the above features can be supported.
I suppose it’s worth noting that Plex Web‘s „Save File“ option isn’t the same as the Download feature.
Saving a file is only available to the server admin and basically the same as downloading a linked file.
Downloads refer to making an item of a library available for offline use within a Plex app.
Thank you for the correction, understood.
