The Sonos app allows you to sign in to Apple Music and stream to Sonos speakers. What is stopping Plex from implementing something like this?
Sonos sells its products on things like Apple music working - way back when i had sonos the lack of support for iTunes match actually stopped me buying further into their ecosystem and in my case led to me selling my stuff. It’s important for Sonos’s success that it supports Apple Music just like google music, spotify and so on.
Plex does no such thing and can’t really actually make any money by implementing it, so i can’t imagine they would see it as a priority to develop, and given some of the core things plex still doesn’t do that well such as shuffle i would be inclined to agree.
I say this however and they’ve just spent time developing a news section and VR, a feature literally tens of people can actually use, so what do i know! Good to see that plex pass monies not being frivolously spent on bullshit!
