Why can't we tag TV series anymore to go into a collection?

There isn’t an option in the Tag to include in a collection. Where did it go?? Is there a work-around?

Thank you all for the feedback. I guess they’ve changed how they do things. I have TV Show collections setup just like my movie collections and was able to add the Picard series into my Syfy/Fantasy collection, but the Discovery series had to be made into a new collection just by itself. Very odd behaviour that allows some series to go into pre-built genre collections and others that have to be on their own.

Works for me?

Make sure you are on the show level. If you click on ANYTHING in the “recently added” section of a library, it’s quite likely to be an episode or *season-level, not the show-level. You can only add entire shows to a collection, not a season or episode

Make sure you’re editing the show (not seasons or episodes) if you want to assign a collection tag.
Alternatively you can always use the Add to item from the show’s context menu (this will also work for seasons and episodes).

Sorry, that’s not correct. You absolutely can add seasons and episodes to collections. Unfortunately you can’t them to the same collection - Plex will only create separate collections for episodes, seasons and shows.

Collection with an episode:

Collection with a season:

You can add individual items (episode/season) to a collection, but to do so you must select Add To -> Add to Collection from its “More” menu:

If you view your library by episodes or seasons, you can select multiple and then select Add to Collection from the Add To menu:

You can’t tag individual items as you can with a series. There’s some additional information here.
