It used to be really easy to see why recordings failed, you just looked at DVR Schedule screen and it would show them. Now that you’ve regressed and taken away that feature, where oh where do I find that information?
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
You can find that information on ChannelsDVR (a competing product).
This is one of the main reasons I stopped using Plex to record TV shows. Way too many times when a recording failed it had no evidence that it even tried.
I haven’t used it in a while, but I did eventually notice that there would be an error showing immediately after the recording failed, but by the next morning when I normally checked the DVR, all error messages would be automatically wiped out instead of waiting to be manually cleared. It has to be one of the stupidest design choices I’ve ever seen in a DVR.
In addition, Channels records more reliably than Plex. During really bad reception Channels will usually still give an unwatchable file, but Plex will usually give no file at all, as if it never even tried.
I’ve been looking at Channels but I prefer a lifetime subscription, not monthly or yearly. If they had a lifetime I would have already jumped ship.
Well, I know the problem has been mentioned before and has existed for at least two years now. Maybe this time will be “the charm” and they’ll finally fix it. It is Christmas after all.
