Yes, PLEASE bring back the vertical grid view for albums or better yet how about a vertical list. That way for albums with long names (I have tons of bootleg concerts titled 2020-06-22 (Venue - City, State) you could see more of the album title.
The new view would be fine for tv or if you held your phone sideways.
I refuse to use Plex anymore until this horrible layout is changed or they allow us the option to change back.
I did find a work around if anyone is interested. There’s an app called Hi-Fi Cast Music, this music player will connect to your Plex server and will allow you to access your music library albums in the wall format like prior. The only issue is that if you don’t upgrade to premium there are ads.
I honestly don’t care about the ads at this point. I can easily access my music albums again without having to deal with Plex’s horrible new layout.
Yeah, there is another issue on this topic https://forums.plex.tv/t/youve-ruined-my-plex-mobile-apps/605519 and we are complaining about it there too. This is a terrible UI/UX choice. Not only do I not get the satisfaction of being able to easily browse my artists’ albums, but they removed useful information like the year the album was released. This is so irritating.
The albums should now be displayed in a grid (without horizontal scrolling). If an artist has many albums, there’ll be a “Show All” button above the grid (threshold is 12 albums from what I’ve seen in other threads).
