Why didn't Plex record my show?

Why didn’t Plex record The Big Bang Theory tonight?

As you can see below, The Big Bang Theory was new and when you expand the listing in the web client it says that the recording was scheduled. (Live TV & DVR -> Guide)

As you can see, I have it set to record:
NOTE: I do have it set for New Airings Only, but if you look above, it does indicate that The Big Bang Theory is new

I noticed earlier though that the list of scheduled recording for tonight only listed Young Sheldon and not The Big Bang Theory (Live TV & DVR -> Recordings)

Since I saw the issue before the show started, I’m assuming this isn’t an issue where an error occurred during the recording (also, I would expect it to show up under Recording just with an error indicator).

Thus my question, why didn’t it record? Yes, I am assuming you’ll need more information, but I’m unsure what I can/should provide, so I’d appreciate some one (or ones) helping walk me through troubleshooting this issue.
It seems really odd to me that they are on the same channel, right after each other (so not a problem with the tuner removing the channel) and it not showing

I have not had a recording issue in a long time, but Big Bang tonight only recorded the last 9 minutes.

For now, I canceled the recording and then re-scheduled it and it now appears under recordings for Thursday. Its a bit disappointing that this occurred and there hasn’t been any troubleshooting on it as this instance may be fixed, but that’s just treating the symptom, the underlying issue still remains.

As a new user with NVIDIA Shield and Air TV external USB tuner, I have found that a scheduled recording will not take place if the live TV application (within Plex) is open and another channel is being viewed. There is no visual indication of an ‘issue’ until about a minute or so past the start time of the scheduled record event. Most apps/hardware I have seen will effect a ‘channel change’ to accomplish the scheduled record event. No such action with this app. AFTER the scheduled start time, Plex does note a failed record event with an on screen message.
I have witnessed this anomaly 2x and believe it to be a bug in the system.
