Hi, guys, this is a general networking/transcoding question. Recently I discovered I could expose plex behind a nat using ngrok. The odd thing is when testing ngrok’s free plan speeds by using plex’s download feature I got a download rate of about 670kbs. The weird thing is that despite this all of my streams work perfectly at 4mbs as long as they are transcode to (720p high 4mbs).
Now the even stranger phenomena is if I transcode a flac file (.mkv movies/tv shows) I’m able to achieve up to (1080p 8mbs) no lag. Does anyone know why this happens? Is H.264 transcodes more intensive compared to flac?
