Why does opening Plex (for Windows) try to run an installer?

It seems like every other time I try to open the Plex Windows app (via the Start Menu), I get an alert from Windows that looks like:

When I search my filesystem for that file I see that it is an update, however I don’t want automatic updates. So I hit no, it errors out, then next time I try to open “Plex” it opens just fine…

Anyone know what is causing this automatic update? Is there any way to disable this? I would prefer to only install updates when I’m ready.

Right. Is that how you disable automatic updates on windows too? I searched for a plex.ini file on my Windows install and it’s there (at C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Plex\plex.ini), however it doesn’t contain the mentioned key nor does it look like you’re supposed to modify it by hand.
