How to Stop auto updating> mMacOS Sequoia 15.7.1 & Plex Player (macOS) Version 1.110.0.351-4e48eb83

Server Version#:
Player Version#:1.110.0.351-4e48eb83

How can I stop Plex from automatically updating the software whenever I open the software? I am running macOS 15.7.1 (Sequoia). I was running a version prior to 1.110.0.351-4e48eb83 and everything worked fine. I oppened the Plex app and now w]ith version 1.110.0.351-4e48eb83 things are wonky. I can not grab the bar that moves the movie along quickly nor can I access the count down timer on the left sife of the window. I really want to go want to aan earlier version but I find nowhere in the app where to choose to not download and install the updates. I reaaly don;t want to go to another program instead of Plex, but unless there is an easy way to change the setting to not automatic update I will go elsewhere.

Thank you for your time.

Try this:

I found those instructions earlier, but I must be dumb or something, but I could not understand the instructions. I tried to follow the steps but I would click on one of the links(?) and it would take me to something that did not resemble what I guess I was supposed to see.

I have been working with computers since 1985. I have worked in the computer “fix it/set in up business” for 20 years, but I just find those kind of instructions confusing.

Something along the lines of:

Find this text, Click on “ “. Then go to “ “ and click on “ “. Etc, etc, etc … would probably work better.

Thanks

  1. Quit out of Plex for Mac
  2. Edit ~/Library/Application Support/Plex/plex.ini
  3. Add the following lines
[debug] <-- add debug section if it does not exist.
disableUpdater=true
  1. Save, exit, beer.

1985…
Commodore 64? Apple IIc? IBM PCJr?
That keyboard was great.

Found that info yesterday and applied. Works like a champ.

Thanks…
