Why does the smooth playback between 2 FLAC audio tracks not work (gets interrupted)?

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2309
Player Version#: 1.19.0.1399-31d8c803

Hi there.
I’ve managed to rip some of my CDs (with XLD) into FLAC and now when playing them back from Plex, I notice that there’s always a short interruption between two tracks, whereas the same tracks are not interrupted when playing the original CD.

Where do I need to look, to fix this?

Thanks,
Flavio.

There are only a few Plex clients which support gapless playback.
Plex Player is unfortunately not among those.

You can get gapless on iOS, Android in the Plex apps for these platforms.
As well as on Windows and MacOS with the Plexamp client (requires Plex Pass).

Hi Otto.
I’ve just verified that on my Android phone Plex is indeed playing back gapless.
Is there any alternative to Plexamp (and a Plex Pass) on Windows and/or MacOS?

Unfortunately not.
You can try Plex Media Player in its ‘TV mode’, but that is not exactly ideal for desktop computers.

I tried Plex Media Player, but it’s a bad experience from a usability perspective. Slow reaction (OS X) of the GUI and no “REV/FFW”?
Anyway: even with Plex Media Player, there is a gap between tracks which should be gapless… :-/

Sorry to get back on this, but: will Plex ever correct this “bug” on the Plex Player?
Or should I file this request somewhere?
Thanks,
F.
