I started using Plex for my music library a while back, but was sad to learn that it doesn’t handle my weirdly-shaped album covers (like cassette fronts) because they are not a 1:1 image ratio.
I tried to update one album cover by adding a transparent background – so Plex would “think” it’s a 1:1 image, but this just letterboxed the cover and it looks silly.
Seeing as Plex supports rectangular covers for movies, how come it can’t support my rectangular album covers? I “get” that most album covers are square and design problem may come for supporting multiple shapes of album covers – but I’m particular about my music collection and want it to look good, no matter what weird things are in it.
Just wanted to get some eyes on this issue. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this, too?
