I have noticed many times, that something in ‘Discover/Starting Soon’ that shows a start time in the near future, cannot be recorded because ‘airing has already started’
My theory is the ‘starting soon’ display is running on a clock one hour behind the true wall clock. My current timezone is GMT+0100 (BST) and it seems the ‘starting soon’ clock is GMT+0000
In the case of the film above, starting in 6 minutes according to a clock one hour behind, would mean actual start was 60-6 = 54 minutes ago, when with 71 minutes left to run (54 + 71 = 125) agrees with a running length of 125 minutes.
Currently running Version 1.7.2.3878 on MacOS, but this behaviour has been around for many versions.
hi @penangtom, next time you see this can you do a screen shot, i’ll try to confirm here. The only issue i have seen if when starting up PMS, sometimes the ON RIGHT NOW is empty, until next event starts.
I spotted it this afternoon; not all programs were affected, and not all on the same channel, but this one was definite. The two shots are from the ‘On Now’ and ‘Starting Soon’ airing rows, and related to the same show (I checked by going into the listings).
I’m seeing this as well… I’ve not found a way to replicate it on-demand yet. The one thing I notice is that the “min left” matches the “starting in”. There’s a bug in the starting soon logic somewhere I believe (at least on the GUI… I’ve not tested any issues related to recording).
@penangtom - on second look, I’m not sure if my issue was exactly the same as yours. If so, it has been reported to the proper dev team w/ all the necessary details.
If your problem is a bit different (you mention not being able to record… my issue is cosmetic and not impacting recording), please let me know.
