Why is Playing Music Tracks such a Chore?

While using Plex App on Android, Pixel XL (1), when I click on a Playlist and then shuffle it will start to play. All is well even tough I cannot swip to next track in Android yet the Plex app on iOS can do it no trouble. Well, after the first track plays, the second one begins. But not on the screen. Screen will still show previous Cover Art, Artist and Title, but the Time Scale is correct. What gives?
