Why is Plex closing posts related to week in review emails?

Week in review is F’ing creepy. If I want social media connections I’ll go to Facebook or twitter. I don’t want Plex invading / spying on me and my friend / family of what we’ve watched. It’s gross. It’s creepy. It’s my subscription on my hardware with my family. Not yours. Keep your hands off my watch habits! Stop telling everyone what I watch. Stop with ALL the social media BS.

I’ve setup an emby server as I don’t believe I can trust Plex at this point. The only thing that would change this stance is a new policy from Plex stating they will refrain from these “development” activities going forward and apology for f’ing up so royally.

Know. Your. Audience. The Plex dev team needs a wake up call.

Which thread was closed?

There are multiple threads on the topic, including the one to which you posted immediately before opening this thread.

Several were showing “closed November 21” or whatever. Most threads are open like 3 months after the last post. But several seem to be closed right after the comment was made.

I stand by my criticism. This is a patently stupid “feature” to shove a “watched list” down people’s throats.

I see no indication of Plex limiting discussion on the topic.

I found a couple of posts that were merged into a larger thread. When this happens the original is closed and has a link to the new location. I also found one post that was closed because it was a duplicate.

Threads without comments for three months are closed automatically, but can be re-opened if needed. Feature Suggestions are an exception and do not auto-close.

This topic was automatically closed 90 days after the last reply. New replies are no longer allowed.
