Violation of my privacy and trust in Plex - unforgiveable

Why is my viewing history being broadcast to my family and friends via email, and how do I disable this for all users? I have no memory of asking for this.

This feels like an unforgivable breach of my trust in Plex as a platform and demonstrates terrible, inconsiderate decision making by your leaders.

If I hadn’t already paid for lifetime membership, I’d be cancelling immediately and moving to a different platform purely out of rage.

I’ve seen what you’re watching and it’s nothing to be ashamed of!

But in all seriousness, yeah, forcing social features onto a bunch of data hoarder sysadmins was not a great idea.

The answer is quite simple. Money.

It’s only going to get worse. You interpret this as you will:

Plex says it aims to expand the community capabilities for both the content owners and for users through the use of public pages that will offer content owners a bigger stake in the conversations that take place around their movies and shows.
