I am running Plex on my Synology diskstation (DS218+). Plex fully patched to latest release.
I have a Plex pass and have setup Plex home. I have switched OFF the DLNA server.
However, when I go to my 2012 vintage LG TV (no Plex app) I can choose my Plex server as an input source. Plex is advertising itself on my network to the TV?
Strangely, if my TV is connected to the wired network, trying to browse my Plex server returns no files. If I connect my TV to WiFi, I cam browse all libraries.
I can only assume some sort of DLNA broadcast is still on? To be clear, I want it OFF. I do not want to be able to see my stuff through non-app devices.
@dane22 - I can confirm it’s definitely Plex that is broadcasting my content to my unauthorised TV.
I know this because I have set up a Plex server on my laptop, and switched off DLNA (and restarted). I have even gone through my Plex account and deauthorised all devices.
The laptop Plex server and my Synology Plex server appear merrily in my LG TV input list. I can select either and see all of my photos, music, videos.
This despite DLNA being off and despite the device not having being authorised to my Plex account.
What did I miss, or is this a potentially serious security issue?
