Hello,
I have tried using the Apple TV Preview since it has launched, but it never had any background images, where there should be.
I thought, that maybe it just hadn’t been implemented again, but
-
I never saw anyone else bring this issue up
-
I also saw in a post here that it actually is in the new Roku Preview
The backgrounds are in the old app:
In the new mobile app:
Also are working in Infuse:
Like I said, it has been this way since the Preview launched. I already have tried restarting the app & device, logged out, etc.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this? Or is this actually intentional and I have just missed other people talking about it?

I have been experiencing the same behavior with the background images either not loading or taking a long time to load.

Good to know that there is at least someone with the same issue. Although, the background images have never loaded for me. Not once, since the Preview was released.

I did already report it here almost two months ago.

Looks like I DID miss a comment about this issue. Thanks for bringing it up. Still, how is this still not implemented? This Preview has been out since when? January? And the Roku Preview gets it on day one? Missing something this simple and not even acknowledging it, has already soured my feelings about this new app.

Just want to mention that this is not something I’m seeing so it does only seem to be affecting certain people. Thanks for bringing this up again though I’ll poke some of the team about it.
Quick question, have you tried refreshing the metadata on the server?
Yes I have. Probably many times over the last few months, manually and automatically.

Thanks.
Is this happening with the Plex-provided content too, like the pages on the Discover tab?
No. Just like nolankotulan mentioned in his comment, the background images show up normally in the Discover tab. This only seems to happen to any own movies and TV Shows.

Yes, many times, both manually and automatically too.
Pictures are displayed correctly in Discover mode and in the Watchlist (most of the time). Problem only occurs on the ATV app with backdrops for owned content. And maybe only with local assets, I am not sure as I only use local assets.

I don’t use local assets, so this can’t be the issue. Just mentioning it now already, before this gets called out as the issue for our problem.

I’d been considering making this exact post for days now so thanks!
Exact same issue. Tried the exact same things. Visible on my iPhones, just not Apple TV.

Any update on this drzoidberg33? Or maybe someone else from Plex?
Not sure what is going on here, but I can replicate when looking at titles on my server. I just filed a ticket to get this looked at. Thanks for your persistence and patience here.

Any idea what the cause is?

Anyone else getting this? Anyone else noticing this?
Would love an update as it might be nice to be able to try and use the preview again.

Still wondering if this is being worked on? I learned that this issue is 6months old!?

@alex_murray They never gave any other updates on this issue sadly. But seeing as how the AppleTV Preview is the only one with this ever since the Preview launched is not giving me any hope of it getting fixed soon (or before the public launch of the new app
).
