I’m wondering why mkv and dts are not supported without transcoding…ps4 has enough power to transcode them itself. Using its media player through dona service I can stream every mkv. I really don’t understand. Will direct streaming be ever supported?
This is a limitation of the app platform that sony make available for developers. Although the console is capable of dealing with these media types they do not make that capability avaialble to apps
